Math Interventionist

 

Qualifications:

Class A Mississippi teaching certification with five years of teaching experience preferred; meet requirements for valid Mississippi teaching license

 

Job Goal:

To provide the leadership and expertise needed to make the teaching team it’s most effective in achieving the greatest degree of student learning.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

    

  1. Coordinates all activities of the teaching team
  2. Assumes responsibility for the continual improvement of the quality of instruction of the team.
  3. Serves as adviser and counselor to all student teachers assigned to the team.
  4. Oversees and coordinates the clerical work of the team.
  5. Assists in the master schedule and with any individual teacher scheduling problems.
  6. Assume responsibility for the development and implementation of resource files for the team.
  7. Coordinates the creation and development of specialized curriculum materials.
  8. Plans an individualized approach to the learning problems of students served by the team.
  9. Encourages team members in the use of new methods and materials.
  10. Offers in-service workshops and training that are deemed useful by teachers on the team.
  11. Coordinates interdisciplinary units of study with the teaching team.
  12. Meets on a regular basis with other lead teachers to discuss new materials and programs, evaluate present programs, and consider problems of mutual concern, formulating recommendations as necessary and appropriate.
  13. Meets and confers with parents as necessary.
  14. Assists members of the team in evaluation of all students.

Salary and work year are determined by the Board.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
